So great was the love she inspired that the peasants of the Western Hills refused for many years to believe that she was dead (The Kingdom of Ahmadnagar, Radhey Shyam).

Chand Bibi was the Regent of Bijapur and Ahmednagar in the Deccan and well known in Indian history for her abilities as a ruler and for defending Ahmednagar against Akbar. She was betrayed and subsequently murdered in her private apartments by her soldiers

There are a good number of miniature paintings of Chand Bibi and in almost all she is engaged in a physical activity, more often than not hawking as in Pic 1 and 2.  The costumes follow the conventions of 16th century Deccani miniature painting but the lack of a bodice in a few paintings is surprising (though also somewhat the norm for this period).

A quick summary of Chand Bibi and other Indian women rulers
